A visit to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji's Holy Shrine is regarded one of the holiest pilgrimages of our time. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji lives in a Holy Cave in the folds of the three-peaked mountain Trikuta, and is known across the globe as Moonh Maangi Muradein Poori Karne Wali Mata, which translates to "Mother Who Fulfills Whatever Her Children Wish For" (pronounced as Trikoot). Every year, millions of pilgrims visit the Holy Cave. In reality, the annual number of Yatris who visit the Holy Shrine has surpassed one crore. This is owing to the unwavering faith of the devotees who come from all across India and the world to visit the Shrine. The Mother's Holy Cave is located at a height of 5200 feet. The Yatris must walk approximately 12 kilometres from Katra's base camp to reach the summit. The yatries are graced with Darshans of the Mother Goddess within the Sanctum Sanctorum—the Holy Cave—at the end of their trip. These Darshans are shaped like the Pindies, which are three real rock formations. The Cave is devoid of any sculptures or idols. Throughout the year, Darshans are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
